RDVO Acquired by Cambridge Biomarketing

Cambridge BioMarketing, a full-service healthcare marketing communications agency located in the biotech community of Cambridge, Massachusetts, expands its digital capabilities with the acquisition of RDVO, a full-service digital marketing and media agency. All members of RDVO will join Cambridge BioMarketing in their Cambridge headquarters effective immediately. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition will extend Cambridge BioMarketing’s new digital capabilities far beyond website development and includes online patient and HCP communications platforms, strategic digital marketing and online advertising, healthcare software, devices and mobile applications, and multimedia applications, according to Cambridge BioMarketing CEO and chief creative officer, Steve West.

RDVO worked in healthcare technology and consumer marketing for over six years. Their experience ranges from developing targeted patient communities, applications for devices, social media, and highly sophisticated search marketing programs for pharmaceutical products to next-generation platforms for Microsoft, Gillette, and the Boston Red Sox. After two years of successful partnering on projects, RDVO is now fully and officially integrated into Cambridge BioMarketing as its new digital services department.

Heading Cambridge BioMarketing’s digital services are former RDVO partner and managing director, Ben Zipkin, who now becomes director of digital strategy, and Mike Demopoulos, former partner and creative director at RDVO, who now assumes the position of creative director/digital technology.

Prior to joining Cambridge BioMarketing, Mr. Zipkin worked for leading digital agencies and has experience guiding brands for healthcare and consumer companies like Genzyme, Abbott Laboratories, Shire, Microsoft, L.L. Bean, and Kraft Foods. Prior to RDVO, Mr. Demopoulos was design director at iCAST and in a similar role at EF Tours.

A new, cross-functional team of interaction designers, information architects, online marketing specialists, project managers, and programmers now supports Cambridge BioMarketing’s new digital services department.
